MG OO Gundam Seven Sword /G - WIP 7

First blood

This post is the continuation of the weapons for the Seven Swords. From the previous post, we just saw sword one of seven. There are six more swords to finish for this fella. The remaining swords to finish are the katana(s), long and short GN Sword II and the two beam sabers. All the swords for this kit were given the same treatment of flat black, silver lining and darker shade of blue except the beam sabers.

Beam sabers:

Katanas:

The katanas can be attached to the MS at two location. One is the location shown on the box art which is at the knees. If you don't really fancy him carrying it on the knees, you can also attach the katanas on the backpack like the Buster Sword. In order to do that, you will need these two pieces:

The two pieces are attached to the top of the katanas and connected to the backpack by the pegs. The katanas are interesting because they can either be wielded individually or they can be combined. There are also two different method to combine the katanas together. They can be combined via  a handle or by using the pieces mentioned above:

Five down, 2 to go. The other two swords are the GN Sword II Long and Short. But first before finishing the weapons, there is a little update regarding modelling tools. I just got a new precision knife and while I was cleaning the nubs for the GN Sword II Long, I accidentally pushed the blade too hard and it cut my fore-finger. I have to be extra careful now as this blade has drawn the first blade and will continue to do so if I'm careless. Guess it is time for me to find another method to hold and clean the nubs.

Now back to the GN Sword II Long and Short:

Comparison of length between the GN Sword II Long and Short

As can be seen from the photo, I screwed up the dry transfer for the GN Sword II Long. I thought that I had managed to transfer the entire decal from the sheet to the sword but when I peeled out the sheet, to my horror that some parts of the decal are still on the sheet. I tried to align it as best I could but we know how that turned out. Need to learn from mistakes to improve, right?

Both GN Sword II Long and Short can be used as either a rifle or a sword. The sword form is shown in the above photo. To change from sword to rifle mode, you just have to pull out the blade, turn it 90° and plug it back to the handle.

This is how the GN Sword II Long & short looks like in rifle form:

The GN Sword II Short has a gimmick which is not in the Long version. The tip of the Short can be detached.

After detaching the tip, you will need this:

One end of the wire is connected to the handle and the other is to the tip of the blade. The wire can be bent to any direction you want to for dynamic posing of the kit.

This marks the end of all seven swords for this MS. Next will be the head to mark the finish of this kit in inner frame.
