ToyWorld TW-D03: Grimshell - Part 2 (Final)

A little comparison

Last post was about Grimshell in the T-rex mode. In this post, I will look at Grimshell in both his robot and combiner mode. Transformation from dino to robot is a bit frustrating and there are a few guessing works to be done as the instructions are not clear. Same as Muddy and Roar. I guess the same can be said for the other 2 dinobots as well.

There is something about him in robot mode that brings out the WOW which cannot be captured in the picture. When you look at him in person you can feel his 'presence'. There are tabs all over which you need to make sure that they are properly tab in for the figure to be secure especially the legs.

ToyWorld TW-D03: Grimshell - Part 1

Better late than never

The last review for the ToyWorld dinobots combiner was Roar which was done in 2015. How fast time has passed. I guess now is as good a time as any to start and complete the review of the dinobots. The next dino in the set is Grimlock Grimshell.

Front of the box. The artwork for Grimshell looks very impressive and menacing. The box is also much bigger than the Roar and Muddy's.

ToyWorld TW-D01: Roar - Part 2 (Final)

Major back problem

Mentioned in Part 1, there is a gap found at Roar's tail. Managed to figure out the reason for the gap? Like for Muddy, everything has its place and the gap is meant for the sword.

To attach the sword, first you will have to split open the tail.

ToyWorld TW-D01: Roar - Part 1

First but second

Taking a break after working on the katanas for the PG Astray Red Frame and preparing the pieces for the leg, I decided to fulfil a promise made when I was reviewing Muddy. The promise is to do a review on Roar before the third figure is released . This is the first dinobot combiner to be released by ToyWorld (TW) but is the second to be reviewed. Roar is known as Snarl in the G1 cartoons.

Here are some fact about Snarl from Transformers Wiki: "Snarl is an unhappy, unsociable loner. He grudgingly follows Grimlock's orders and that's about it. He leaves thinking to others. He has few opinions and rarely expresses those he has. Snarl's uncommunicative nature only serves to fuel his sense of isolation. On top of all this, he hates the ungainly stegosaur form given him by the Ark and feels that the war on Earth means he may never see his beloved Cybertron again. Snarl is a profoundly unhappy being.

Only in war does Snarl feel happiness. Only the joy of combat washes away the ache in his spark, and lets him forget anything but the rising thrill of the fight. For these reasons Snarl revels in combat more than even his fellow Dinobots."

ToyWorld TW-D02: Muddy - Part 2 (Final)

A place for everything

Mentioned in Part 1, this post will be about the articulation of Muddy in dino mode and how he looks like in robot mode. We will start with the head. His head is on both a ball joint and hinge which allows the head to be able to move up and down and turn right and left.

ToyWorld TW-D02: Muddy - Part 1

New kit on the blog

Taking a break from building the PG Astray brothers due to the rainy weather. I thought this might be a good time to feature something different on the blog. Not sure how this review will turn out so if you readers have comments on how to improve, I'm happy to hear it. This will be the first post on Transformers.

I've been a Transformers fan since I was a kid and during that time, I did not have the cash to get the characters I wanted. Fast forward a few years (more like 2 decades) I'm collecting some Transformers toys but only those I find interesting or the characters I really like.

I really like combiner bots e.g. Superion, Defensor, Computron, Devastator, etc. I also like Dinobots and I did wish they do combine together. My wish came true when I saw a combiner Dinobots built by frenzy_rumble. He named it Extinction.
