RG Exia - WIP 8

Too many of the same views 

 

Returning to work on the Exia after a short break with the Gustav. With the armouring of the Exia completed in the previous post, then only thing left to do is to assemble.

My working process for any gunpla is the same: Work from the bottom up. Therefore the first thing to assemble are the legs.

 

Just attach the legs into the pegs are the hips. Make sure they are fully in. Do not be afraid to put a little pressure on the leg as they are sometimes tight.

I have to admit that despite the small size, it has lots of details. Now I know why there are so many Exia fans out there. Just assembling the legs makes me fall in love with this MS. It has the sleek and sexy look to it.

The next part to assemble will be the hands. Mentioned in WIP 6, there is an interesting method to attach the hands. BanDai has come out with this new method which it fit the hand piece in the peg and hide the entire piece by pushing it into the  shoulder area. I don't think I'm making sense so I will let the pictures do the explaining instead.

 

Step 1: Push the peg for the hand back at about 45°

Step 2: Insert the hand into the peg. Take off the shoulder armor for easier assembly.

Step 2a: See the hole at the back of the peg? That's where you want to fit the entire peg

Step 3: Push the entire peg into the hole and repeat for the other side.

Step 4: This is how the assembled hand will look like with the shoulder armor detached.

Step 5: Attach the shoulder armor and you're done.

 

To celebrate the completed assembly of the hands, a 360° view of the Exia.

 

Now the last part to be assembled will be the head. This is an easy process. Just take the head piece and attach it to the ball joint at the neck and soon you will have a completely assembled Exia.

I know by now you are probably sick of looking at the 360° view of the Exia. The good part is this part of the WIP is done. The next part will be introducing Exia to the weapons. This will be interesting because of the amount of weapons Exia has.
