RG Exia - WIP 9

Getting ready for battle

Now that the Exia is completed, we will take a look at all the available weapons for this kit and attaching them on to the Exia. All I can say is that this kit has lots of it.

Weapons for the Exia

I did not notice that the Exia has a total of 4 beam saber handle attached. The picture above shows 6 but in reality only 2 has the peg for Exia to hold. A more in depth review of the weapons can be found in WIP 5.

I will cover the GN Long and Short Blade first. In order to attach the blades onto Exia, you will need to pull out the hidden peg at the hip. In order to do that, you will first have to pull out 2 circular armor pieces.

The next step is to push the peg out. This is the hard part. I have tried using tweezers, hobby knife, fingernails and screw driver to pull it out but all in vain. I found the best method to do this to remove the entire part from the hip. The only problem is when you are removing the part, you have to be extra careful not to break it.

After removing the part, just flip the peg out and attach it back to the hips.

One thing to note when you are meddling about the hip. You will have to move the hands out of the way first. If you move it too high up, the shoulder armor will pop out.

Nothing to worry about. Just attach it back and you are good to go. Now that the pegs are out, you can now attach the GN Long and Short Blade on the Exia.

There is a peg hole for both the swords. Just insert the pegs into the hole and you are done.

The next weapon to attach to the Exia will be the GN shield. At the back of the shield, you can find the peg.

The shield can be attached at either side of Exia's arm.

Peg hole can be found on both sides of the arm

To attach the shield, just align the peg with the hole and clip it in.

Once it is in the shield is nice and tight. You don't have to worry about it dropping off while changing poses.

The final weapon to attach to Exia is the GN Sword. The attaching method is the same at the shield. There is a peg on the GN Sword where you will have to align it with the hole. The only difference is that the connection for the GN Sword is not as tight as the shield. The connection part comes off too easily.

Here is how Exia looks like with all the weapons attached:

One thing I did not take photo of is attaching the 4 beam saber handles onto Exia. 2 of the handles attaches to the back next to the GN drive. The other 2 will attach to the back skirt.

The more I look at it, the more I'm loving the mobile suit design. Even with all the weapons attached, the MS does not look bulky at all. It still retains the sleek and sexy look.

Exia does look nice being displayed with all the weapons at the corner of the monitor. That is all for the weapons of Exia and how they are attached. The next part will be the final part and also a list of pros and cons and also my thoughts about this kit.
