LEGO Star Wars Microfighters Resistance X-Wing Fighter - WIP 1

First of its kind (on the blog)

I have encountered some problems with the decals while working on the Eggplane YF-19. To stop the frustration and to cool down, I decided start on another small and a much simpler kit. Let us welcome: LEGO Star Wars Microfighters Resistance X-Wing Fighter. That is a mouthful so I will just refer to this set as the X-Wing.

Looking at the design of the X-Wing, one can be sure that this is from Star Wars: TFA. I like that LEGO are now making most of their weapons be able to fire with just a flick of the finger.

Contents in the box: 1 manual, 2 bags of Lego pieces.

Cover of the manual

A quick flip to the back of the manual shows that this set has a total of 34 steps.

As with all Lego sets, the first thing to assemble is the minifigure.

Completed minifigure of the X-Wing pilot

With the minifigure done and out of the way, we can now concentrate on building the main attraction: The X-Wing.

There is a picture of the completed model before starting the first step.

Step 17 is the last step for the body of the X-Wing

This is how the X-Wing looks like at step 17.

The assembly of the cockpit starts at step 18.

Pieces required for the X-Wing cockpit

After a few quick and simple steps, the completed cockpit.

With that, the X-Wing is about 90% completed. The only thing missing are the iconic wings which will be covered in the next post along with the gimmicks of this set.
