D-Style Shield Liger - WIP 1

And The Winner Is ...

Before the completion of Kamiki Burning Gundam I was going through the backlogs I brought over to KL. Was torn between the D-Style Death Saurer, HMM Z KnightBB Shin Gouka Ryuusou Ryuubi and this kit. Decided to start this kit for a few reasons: 1) A breather from gunpla. 2) D-Style Gustav's platform is looking empty. 3) Perfect kit to try a new color. 4) Have most of the color required for the repaint of the kit. 5) Needed a distraction before I tackle the broken v-fin on the Kamiki Burning Gundam.

After looking at the photos of the Z-Knight from another fellow plamo blogger I might consider working on the Z-Knight the same time as the Shield Liger. The purpose of returning to the hobby is reduce the number of backlogs and to finish whatever paints I already have in my existing arsenal. Since this kit is mainly light blue and I have some leftover light blue rattle can, I can use that for the main body parts and for the rest of the parts will be brush painted with a color which I am curious about.

First before anything can be done, we will have to do the unboxing:

Shield Liger looks like a kitten trying to be brave

The short side of the box has the same image of the Shield Liger as the main image

Shield Gimmicks for the Shield Liger: Opening cockpit, Beam Canons, Claws

Shield Liger in various action poses

Upon opening of the box the manual is the first thing which greets you

There is color guide for the liger but not for the pilot

Runner A: The runner for all the armor

Runner B and D is the mechanical body and weapons of the Liger

Runner C: Claws which comes in yellow will be painted gold
Runner F: Liger teeth in silver. Those are some sharp teeth

Runner E: Transparent orange canopy

Unpainted Liger pilot Van Flyheight

Replacement runner order in case one of the pieces fell into oblivion

There is a parts list in the manual which informs of the parts not in used. In Gunpla the parts are marked with an 'X'

For this kit there are 4 pieces which are not in used and 5 polycaps which might be able to use for the D-Style Death Saurer

All parts removed and stored into their respective boxes

Will be rectifying the broken v-fin for the Kamiki Burning Gundam in the next post. The next step of this kit will be painting the armor parts.
