HG Kamiki Burning Gundam - WIP 6

My Worst Nightmare Came True

Had a short intermission with this kit to complete the RG GP01 Zephyranthes since all the painting works was done in WIP 5. The time has now come to assemble to the kit. The build will start from the leg up.

[Legs]

Parts of the leg before assembly

First thing to assemble is the feet

How the clear blue parts will look with silver under it

Completed feet. Repeat the same steps for the other side. Parts are a tighter fit due to the paintwork

Sections of the assembled legs

Both legs completely assembled

The feet has good articulation. Armor did not get in the way of movement but there are some minor scratches on the armor parts when the legs are bent

[Waist]

Parts of the waist

360 of the completed waist

Only section of the waist with movement is the front skirt

[Side Skirt Armor]

Parts of the left and right side skirt armor

Complete assembly of the armor. The easiest part of assembly for this kit

[Chest and Backpack]

Chest and backpack pieces ready for assembly process

Ran into some issues when assembling the vent piece. The piece could not fit into their designated slots. Could fit either the right or left side into the slots so had to fiddle a bit here and there and use some elbow grease to make them fit into the slot

Other than the vents, there are no other issues with the assembling process. This is the completed chest part and the backpack. The backpack has a new to me attachment process where you slide the entire piece down after putting it into the groove

The bottom clear blue part will be seldom seen when the kit is completed

[Arms]

Pieces for both the right and left arm

The arm articulation is impressive. Wonder it the articulation will remain when it has been attached to the chest piece

[Shoulder Armor]

Completed shoulder armor

[Weapon]

The end of the scabbard is loose. Whenever the katana is removed, that part will comes off with the katana. Could be cause of the tighter fit due to the paint and gloss coat. I have to admit that it is a good looking weapon

[Head]

Pieces for the head ready for assembling

The main head section was assembled without any issue. The problem I ran into was when trying to fit the v-fin onto the red triangle on the forehead.

My worst nightmare came true

Will end the post here to see what can be done to repair the v-fin and how to attach it onto the helmet. Next posting will be the final with the completed model and some action poses.
