The Paint Work Continues
Continuation of painting works from the previous post. The first painting work is the gold color for the sheath and the hand guard of the katana.
Mr.Hobby Mr.Metallic Color GX 209 Red Gold
Tried the Replenishing Agent for the Red Gold although stated on the bottle that it is not to be used for Aqueous and Mr.Metallic paint.
Stated on the bottle to not use on Mr.Metallic Color but had to try as I did not want to get a new bottle of paint. Hopefully nothing bad happens to the paint in future

With the success of the gold with the replenishing agent, the same treatment was given to the Mr.Hobby Mr. Metallic Color GX 208 GX Rough Silver paint as well. Think I might have added a little too much of the agent as you can see the reaction and bubbling of the paint or this might be the reason as to why it was not recommended for metallic paints
Gave the paint a good stirring to get the pigments to mix well and decided to paint the katana and the handle silver. The paint was more like a wash and it only gave the white a sparkle so had to resolve to an alternative method just in case
Went through my bag of permanent marker and looked for all the silver markers I had. Managed to find 5 and only 1 is still usable as the rest have dried up
After giving about a day for the replenishing agent to work its magic, I went back to the silver and tried it again on the katana. The paint has thickened to the original consistency and successfully painted the parts. With the success of the silver, I went through the manual to see which parts which will be covered by the clear blue pieces and paint those silver as well.
Parts of the shoulder which requires the silver paint treatment
The method for using the silver paint is a bit different from the normal paints. I need to load the brush with more silver paint than thinner. While waiting for the silver paint to dry, decided to work on the V-fin and to no surprise of mine that it is also dry.
Mr.Hobby Mr. Color 4 Gloss Yellow for the v-fin. The yellow paint also received the replenishing agent treatment
The safety flag has been removed and sharpened before the paint work

Next post should be the final touch-up work for this model kit before assembling.
