More Painting Ahead
Now that the main body has been completed, I shall use it as a template for the legs. This post will be painting the rest of the parts start with the weapons, tail, paws and finally the legs as there are a lots of minute details on them.
[Weapons]
Weapons for Shield Liger (Right to Left): Anti-Zoid (AZ) 3-Barrel Shock Cannon, AMD 20 mm 2-Barrel Beam Cannon and AZ 30mm 2-Barrel Beam Gun Painted the Anti-Zoid 3 barrel shock cannon as a test piece as I saw a fellow builder on YouTube paint the inner frame of the of his kitbash and it seemed like a very simple and easy technique. Did not have flat black but used the Gaia Color 20 Gun Metal as a base and the Vallejo Aluminum for drybrushing to accentuate the details and hopefully to have some wear marks.
Gaia Color 20 Gun Metal
The result was not as seen on TV. The gun metal color was slightly darker shade than Mr. Hobby Steel and the drybrushing method ended up painting the entire gun instead. Although the end result did not look like how it was supposed to be, will keep it this way as it has the scratch marks on it which turned out perfect as this is the under-belly canon.
Final results of the guns. Did not turn out the way I expected. I used the wrong base color as well for other 2 guns. Supposed to use Gaia Gun Metal but used Steel instead. The 30mm double barrel Beam Gun looks as though it has been salvaged form the junkyard
[Tail]
This is the second easiest part to paint. Main color is Mr. Hobby Steel used for the main body and the control sticks then highlighted with Vallejo Aluminum [Paws]
Claws were painted using Anchor Premium Gold rattle can which was already in my paint collection. If not mistaken the Gold was last used while working on the inner frame legs of the
PG Astray Blue Frame
Did some pedicure for the claws[Legs]
Parts for the front Liger legs waiting for the Steel color to dry. The body part is there as a color guide
Left: Painted front Liger legs
Right: Cleaned up all the excess paint
The hind legs have a hydraulic pipe (circled in green) which is hard to access by the bronze marker. Tried a few different methods to get the color onto the brush but failed
Ended up needing to load the brush with a bit of thinner, color the bronze marker onto the brush and slowly paint the part. Rinse and repeat a few more times to slowly build up the color. Now to repeat the same process 4 more times
Completed rear Liger legs
This marks the end of the work for the Liger. Next post will be the assembling the Liger. I am excited how the Liger will come together as a complete kit.
