A Pilot Chair But Without A Pilot?
Back to this kit after the completion of the Shield Liger. The previous posting concluded with the parts removed from the runner and into their respective boxes. Following the instruction manual, the first section is the head. As most parts are blue, I will use the A.E.U.G.'s MS Blue which was used for Kamiki Burning Gundam. This will lose the factory metallic blue but I am fine with that. The red will be none other than the Super Italian Red used for Kamiki Burning Gundam. As for the mechanical parts I will try the Mr. Hobby Metal Black.

Dived straight into the painting of the kit and forgot to take some photos of how the factory blue looked like before painting. Noticed the kit comes with a chair but wondered why no pilot figure was included with the kit.
A bit of detailing of the pilot chair as there was no indication if the chair would be visible. Painted the chair and the mechanical part Metallic Black
Waterslide decals for the 'boomerang' at the top of the head
Decaled and panel lined parts of the head. The red used was the Super Italian Red used for Kamiki Burning Gundam and blue was
Completed assembly of the head
The head is able to rotate up which reveals the pilot seat. Now I know the reason why no pilot in included as there is not enough space for a figure
The 'horn' and the chin piece disassemble easily when moving the front portion to reveal the pilot seat
Plastic cement to the rescue
With the plastic cement set, the pieces are now more stable and moves easily
The assembling of the head took me awhile as either the instructions were not clear, or I was too tired. First assembled the head and was wondering why there was a huge hole at the top and figured I missed out the back portion so had to dismantle it. To think that the second time round would be easier but that was not the case.
Parts did not want to be in their respective places and once they are already in there, they will pop back out when trying to place another piece. When all is at its place, the joints could not fit properly and had to wiggle the parts a bit here and there. All in all, the entire assemble took me about 45 minutes. Not to mention I lost one of the decals at the top of the red visor but luckily Koto foreseen that that would happen and gave a spare decal.
The next post will be the chest and hopefully it will be a smoother sailing than the head.
