Missing out pieces to paint
Following from the completed work for white and blue parts, the next color will be red. The red used is the Super Italian Red last used on the nozzles of the thrusters for the Z-Knight.
All the parts which require red
First pass of red. Most of the pieces has a good coverage except for the shield Shield is the only piece which requires more attention. This is after 2 layers and 3 layers respectively
Red came out more acceptable after 4 layers of paint
This is not part of the RX 78-2 build. It is from the Z-Knight whose build is temporarily on a break. Decided to include these pieces as there are only 2 of them Completed painting the red
Red completed but got a feeling will have to come back to it when I am painting the yellow for the cross on the shield. Next color after red would be gray. There are some parts which seems familiar from previous painting session requires gray color. The gray used is the Gaia Base Color 074 Gloss Neutral Grey IV used for the frame and katana sheath for Kamiki Burning Gundam.
All pieces which require gray. Contemplating if I should leave the sole completely red or paint some gray
All gray parts painted and panel lined. Did a bit extra for the backpack and had a section in silver
As I was keeping the pieces, noticed that I missed the red on the waist section
Was looking through the manual and noticed another section which I completely missed out. The beam saber compartment is supposed to be in gray...
...but there are some sections in the manual which was left white which confused me
Decided to follow the completed model and painted the parts gray. Took extra care to not mess up the white
Since we are on the subject of beam sabers, this kit does not have any effect parts but comes with a beam saber fully deployed and all in white. Wanted to have it in pink and since I did not have any pink paint available, ransacked the markers bag and found a fluorescent pink water-based marker. Used these types of markers for the
dragon eyes of the SD Epyon,
panel line the platform for Gustav and
HGUC Rezel Type-C. The problem with this marker is that it is water based and does not dry.
Fluorescent Pink Marker
In order for the marker stay, sprayed a layer of pearl white over it before finishing it off with a layer of Future
Paint work stops here for now. Next up will be the painting of the beam rifle and using one of the most difficult color: yellow.
